So, recently on Dancing With the Stars, a couple danced to "Try" by Colbie Caillat. It was an awesome number. But, why would I post just to talk about dancing?
This dance was special because it was about bullying. The background in the beginning was mean words like fat, weird (though some people take that as a compliment; you totally should 😉) and ugly. Classic. Then, about halfway through, the words changed to things like beautiful, talented, etc. at the end, the girl 'wrote' on the background. "I love who I am." (The video is below the statistics. I'm pretty sure if you're not in middle school or older your parents might yell at you for watching the judging and I don't want to get you or me in trouble so there's a sixth grade age limit on the judging part. Otherwise go ahead an watch it!)
Statistics that have to do with this:
•almost 1 in 3 students report being bullied
•50% of female students have reported psychological bullying
•45% of male students have experienced physical bullying
•bullying victims are 7-9% more likely to consider suicide
•over 30,000 kids stay home everyday due to bullying (3 million a month)
•4,400 people die each year because of suicide (mostly caused by bullying)
