With the help of my teacher, I did some research on an awesome site:
pbskids.org/itsmylife/friends/bullies/index.html
Anyway, I got some info I think a lot of you guys have been wanting! I'm going to start doing some posts called "Inside a Bully's Life". It's going to range from this post (Who's a Target?) to why bullies bully.
We all want to know if we could possibly be the target for a bully. Here's the answer!!!
The site says that these are things that make people potential targets. (Nobody get offended by this post please!)
1) People who are different sizes and shapes than other people.
2) People who have a different ethnicity or race than other kids. (Ex: an African American kid in a mostly white school.)
3) People who stand out in a crowd. (Ex: They have a disability)
4) People who easily get anxious or upset.
5) People who don't have many friends or are usually alone.
6) People who have trouble standing up for themselves.
7) People who experienced a really embarrassing moment.
Some people are bullied and are nothing like this list, like me. Even my doctor was puzzled about why I was being bullied. We think that it was because my bullies were insecure or scared about my leadership and it made them feel better if they made fun of me because it made them feel better than me. I'll get more into that with my next post: "Inside a Bully's Life: Why Does a Bully Bully?"
